Next week in Fantasy Baseball, Los Pintadores de Punkrock face the dreaded Chingones. Hopefully, the Chingones will be tired from a hard fought battle with the Grabowski Shuffle. The Pintadores have been taking it easy on The Nennth Inning up until this point. Unlike some... The Pintadores de Punkrock NEVER rest on Sundays!

The designers and tailors at the league office have been working hard to get all the teams properly dressed. They finished the unis for the Chingones just in time for their matchup with the future league champs.

The Smart Brothers...

I apologize to any of my "baseball card" readers in advance... The title of this blog IS "life on the fringes of the baseball card & music industries." So I am gonna share a little music with you. Do yourselves a favor, and check these guys out.

The prodigal sons have returned! The Smart Brothers are back in San Diego! Their '08 Summer Tour may have led them to a new home base, but for a weekend they are in their old stomping grounds. They are only playing one show. I imagine, some (weak) excuse about spending time with family on Easter Sunday is keeping them from playing more than one show. I would skip Easter with MY family to see the Smart Brothers. You would think they would at least return the favor.

In fact, my parents are flying in from Seattle today, and you can bet that I am dragging there butts out to see the Smart Brothers. (Hmmm. My mom says that they have a wedding to go to... Whaaaaa!?!? PRIORITIZE WOMAN!!!)

Code Breaker Exclusives...

In the last couple of days, I have had the pleasure of email-versating with Jason Wong. For those of you that don't know Jason, I am sure you will soon enough. He will be card #338 in the 2009 Allen & Ginter set. Jason is the guy that cracked the Allen & Ginter code.



I remembered reading a "how I broke the code" post he wrote before I even pulled my first code card. I love puzzles, word games, and codes, so it was totally fascinating to me. Way beyond my skills, but fascinating.



I recently read a cool post by Jay Bee Anama on his always great bdj10's Topps Card Blog. He had a good experience dealing with "the codebreaker." I decided to drop the guy an email, congratulating him on his upcoming card. I let him know I could have saved him a lot of time and effort. If he wanted a card THAT bad, I would have made him one.



Turns out he's a pretty nice guy. He likes the punkrockification process that we apply to cards here at PunkRockPaint. We decided to work out a little trade. He's gonna send me an autographed code ad. I sent him the un-pixelated versions of the cards below:
